QUICSEAL 404 is made of circular closed cell polyethylene foam designed as a back-up material for cold-applied joint sealants.
QUICSEAL 404 is ideal as a bond breaker for joint sealants as they do not adhere to the material. When used as back-up material, it acts as a bond breaker at the back of the seal while providing an ideal convex strain profile to receive the sealant, thereby preventing the build up of additional stress at the contact interface and on the sealant during joint movement
QUICSEAL 404 is extruded to various diameters to accommodate a range of joint widths.
Uses
QUICSEAL 404 is recommended in the following applications:
Between prefabricated concrete panels, window frames and walls
Caulk joint slots with QUICSEAL 404 with a blunt tool, taking care not to puncture the skin of the cord during insertion. QUICSEAL 404 BACKER ROD (approximately 30% oversize) should be placed into the joint to the required depth. Allow sufficient depth to receive sealant.
Note: Optimum performance of the sealant is achieved when width: depth is 2:1
